With the exceptions of King Diamond's "No Presents for Christmas" and Spinal Tap's "Christmas with the Devil".

11. "Feliz Navidad"
I used to like it.

Then we moved to Santa Fe.

WE CAN'T ESCAPE!!! IT'S EVERYWHERE!!

In every conceivable guise from mariachi to muzak.

It's gotten to the point that when I hear the intro I look around for a toilet to submerge my head in until it's over.

maniacally,
Bright

34. That's my pick, hands down..
It's not a bad song per se, but like 'It's a Small World, After all', I can't get it out of my head for hours after I hear it.

22. Barbra Streisand's version of Jingle Bells makes my hair stand on end.
Fucking most annoying, no-rhythm piece of crap in almost all of music, not just holiday music.

Other than that, I don't have a whole lot of issues with Streisand though. I just don't know what she was thinking recording that horrible version of Jingle Bells. :hurts:

Silver and Gold is a beautiful song -- Johnny Marks was brilliant. No one ever pays attention to the lyrics. It has an anti-greed, anti-selfishness message (remember, there is a prospector-character in the Rankin-Bass special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" named Yukon Cornelius who is obsessed with finding precious metals, but ends up satisfied when he accidentally discovers a peppermint mine). This song was written by Marks for that special.

Silver and gold, silver and gold
Everyone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.

Silver and gold, silver and gold
Mean so much more when I see
Silver and gold decorations
On every Christmas tree.

30. Other: "White Christmas". Not so much the song itself, as the way it's influenced everyone to think
that a proper Christmas MUST be white. In southern England it usually isn't; and I prefer it not to be, as snow at this time here rapidly becomes either total slush, or worse, leads to ice on the pavements.

Simply as a song - "It's Getting to Look a Lot Like Christmas".

I have a strong affinity for parodies like Wreck The Malls, and humorous alternitives like Adam Sandler's Hannukah Song.
