Woopsie, people washing away due to crumbling infrastructure.
Women are pissed due to planned expenditures on infrastructure because these are men's jobs. Wonder what they think about people washing away?

1. That woman last night and her 'righteous indignation' was
silly. I'm all for human infrastructure, but do think both can and should and needs to be done. I guess that's her story because she's hawking a book.

2. I agree that job creation should be more inclusive of women, but
emphasis should clearly should be on infrastucture due to the tremendous expense of safety issues in terms of both human life and consequences of suffering as a result of the crumbs. Some women can do white water rescue, but not many.

26. Well, did she stop and think of all the office jobs that would also
be created with these "men" jobs?

3. Men's jobs??
Where the heck has she been? There are plenty of women doing construction these days and I foresee more going into the field if that is where the jobs are.

5. Within the group of employed women within the U.S., the majority of women are not employed in
construction or white water rescue and you know that... :eyes:

6. I Know That Women Have Made Great Strides Entering Into
the fields and I expect this will continue as long as we quit referring to them as "men's jobs". Many men are now entering what used to be referred to as "women's jobs" also.

14. Were we talking about female construction workers or the cabinet or job creation for women?
I was referring to number of women appointed. :P

24. Even though women are, indeed, doing more construction work, I doubt that many have that 'male' gene
... that can see a Bobcat and feel something stirring inside that makes one almost salivate at the idea of driving one and pushing dirt around.

I'm about the least 'skilled' of males when it comes to construction -- even though I *did* remodel my kitchen once, from the studs out. However, it came home to me once a year or two ago that there's a real difference between men and women when it comes to that stuff. There was a Bobcat parked on a residential construction site as I was escorting my mother (who uses a walker) on a walk around the block. (She needs a kick in the ass to exercise.) As we came upon the site, I just HAD TO GO OVER AND CARESS THE Bobcat. I felt like a little kid wanting to drive the damn thing around and move lots of dirt. It's a "male thing" ... and reminded me that it's not just the crotch that makes us different.

OP I find it not entirely truthful. I am about 10 miles from this area and can tell you not one person was washed away.

See no lies or drama, and no needless worries from people wondering if their loved ones have been washed away. I thank you for the "fuck you" and hope you have a wonderful day.

18. In 1975 I was in welding school
when there were NO women in welding school. I was the first one there. the crap I put up with, I have stories. nonetheless, I held my own and carried my own weight there and learned to weld. I was a much better welder then many of the men, attention to detail and all. I finished the school and most of the guys became friends. give women a chance at these jobs, they can do it.

:toast: Of course give them a chance if that is what they want to do, and create jobs in other fields too.

Shirley Muldowney has THREE TOP FUEL World Championships.

She earned them in an era before women were warmly welcomed on the drag strips of America.

These days, it's considered a marketing edge to have a female fuel car driver.

PS - sorry. guys, Ashley Force just got married!
