Woman linked to Ohio corruption probe found dead in home
Woman linked to Ohio corruption probe found dead in home

December 23, 2008

CLEVELAND (AP) — A woman linked to a corruption investigation in Cuyahoga County has been found dead in her home in Cleveland.

Fifty-year-old Rosemary Vinci was a former strip club manager who had become a county employee and ally of Commissioner Jimmy Dimora and Auditor Frank Russo.

Dimora and Russo have been subjects of an FBI corruption probe of county government, and their offices were raided by agents in July. Both have denied any wrongdoing.

County coroner's office spokesman Powell Caesar says circumstances of Vinci's death were not known Monday night and that an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

Congressional Campaign

Cimperman entered the race for the Democratic nomination for Ohio's 10th Congressional District in December 2007. Ohio's 10th Congressional District is represented by Dennis Kucinich. Cimperman's aggressive campaign was one factor in Kucinich's decision to drop out of the Presidential election on January 25, 2008.

Cimperman's campaign tapped into the growing sentiment in Greater Cleveland that Dennis Kucinich's second consecutive long-shot bid for the Presidency was distracting the Congressman from focusing on issues such as the local economy. Cimperman highlighted the votes missed by Dennis Kucinich during his run for the Presidency, as well as the fact that the vast majority of funds raised by Kucinich came from outside the State of Ohio.

Cimperman, in a crowded field of five candidates, received 35% of the vote. Kucinich received 52% of the vote total, a far lower percentage of the vote than the Congressman received in previous Democratic primaries.

7. Guess everyone is murdering opponents now. Thanks to Bushler, it's all the rage again.
Edited on Tue Dec-23-08 05:27 PM by tom_paine
Like it was in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Don't get me wrong, I am not idealizing post-WWII America and it certainly was hell most of the time for African-Americans, LGBT, and others. Further, Bushler did not INVENT totalitarian tyranny, but he has stimulated it into another growth period.

But there was something about that 1945-1980 time, for all it's faults and flaws. If I had to give it a name, I would say, though this is an imperfect description of that which may not be able to be put into words, I would say It's almost like, in the afterglow of victory over Hitler and in the early stages of the Cold War, our Elites HAD to pretend that we really were free...for a brief time until 2000 when the threat to the Elites from foreign upstarts like the Soviet "upstarts" (who were vicious tyrants, it should be noted, so no tears here for their demise) and the threat from the full enfranchisement of the American People after Civil Rights was ended by privatizing the vote into submission to Bushie and other Elite Wills, that stage set was taken down publicly (to paraphrase Frank Zappa).

Now our Elites don't have to pretend anymore. They don't NEED us, not with media saturation making people superfluous as reality-generating entities or as voters, they have no need to fear us, as we have been docilized to a level that any tyrant would be proud to have us as his citizenry.

Along with all the rest of the contempt of the Elites for us "food bags" or "cannon fodder units" that the changed situation has brought since 2000, and really since Iran-Contra conclusively demonstrated that the Bushies could commit High Treason in plain sight with no consequences to the Elites (and even murdering henchmen Ollie North got his conviction overturned by Bushie Criminals pretending to be judges), along with all of that comes more of the old ways, as any perusal of history shows murdering of opponents, even in America, was quite prevalent and open, no forensics to catch someone after the fact and so forth.

My point, which I now loop back to complete the circle and make it, is that murdering opponents is all the rage. Expect it's use to increase everywhere and from all walks of life. It already has increased, I think.

12. All happening at the same time, too. Cutting the loose ends while the Bushies still have corrupt
contol over a badly corrupted National LE.

Yes, almost identical to mob actions taken when they are going to lose one of their planted "mayors" to arrest. There's always a flurry of these kins of deaths, too. You're mentioning it reminded me of a couple instances of mayoral corruption, where the mayor was arested and the mob lost their guy (most notably, AC Mayor Mike Mansfield in the 70s).

For the couple months while Mansfield still had control before he was convicted, all kinds of odd murders showed up in the papers if whistleblower types and mob "consultants" that might have cracked under questioning.

Glad you mentioned that, because the pattern of multiple murders just prior to the "mafia" losing control of a corrupt government is IDENTICAL.

IDENTICAL.

Thanks for that post. Thanks for reminding me of Mansfield and AC.

22. apparently her father was murdered in a "gangland hit" years ago
from the comments section at the end of an April 2008 article concerning her.

Everyone knows Rosemary, daughter of the legendary Jim Vinci - owner of Diamond Jim's in the Flats. He and an employee were murdered in the bar in what was believed to be a gangland hit. I don't think the crime was ever solved.

Last I heard, she was an outreach worker for the county commissioners.

..not quite as organized as Chicago Politics.. but Cleveland is learning.

If I had my choice of working for the Mafia or working for the Republicans... I would much rather work for the Mafia. At least they take care of their people and they reward loyalty.

14. This means the guy running against Kucinich probably was funded by Rove and the RNC
to knock him out of Congress. The Bush Machine has a monopoly on assassins right now. They are cleaning up all the loose ends before they flee to UAE.

Kucinich had several opponents in the primary - 4, if I recall correctly. Not all his constituents appreciate his political grandstanding.

18. Update: Coroner blames blocked artery for Rosemary Vinci's death
Cuyahoga County employee Rosemary Vinci died of a blocked coronary artery, according to a preliminary autopsy report released this afternoon by the county coroner's office.

There was no foul play or trauma involved, the report stated.

Vinci, a close ally of County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora and Auditor Frank Russo, was found dead Monday evening in her West 18th Street home. She had been a municipal liaison on Russo's payroll and made $48,000 a year, but details about her duties were sketchy.

Dimora and Russo are focuses of a federal corruption probe of county government. During a raid of Russo's home and office, investigators sought pictures of Dimora and Vinci and documents related to Vinci, records show. (See The Plain Dealer's full coverage at cleveland.com/countyincrisis.)
