The whole point of the bailouts in the US and Europe is to artificially prop up a fundamentally dysfunctional economic system. It's made a few people alot of money, and they're going to keep the gravy train going as long as humanly possible.

We are leaking trillions, and bailing out the very richest on tax dollars that will come from you and I. People with pitchforks and torches ought to be a common sight, instead all I see are people with "deer in the headlights" expressions. They know they are fucked, but don't seem to have any real idea who did the deed. We bailed out financial institutions without even blinking, but a relatively minor sum being spoken of for the automotive industries results in an anti-union backlash. What's that tell you?

9. I would say you mean laissez faire capitalism.

We knew that in 1929 but I guess people for got. No rules in business is about as silly as no rules on the highway. Put two people together and, face it, rules are needed. From roads, business to schools rules are always needed. Since Bush had got way with much in bad dealing in the stock market himself I guess he just did not see any harm in having a group of crooks running the whole mess on Wall Street. Course he has now put 'like thinkers' in every agency in the govt. so nothing works any more. Yar, our own 'ruling class' has really made one big mess.
