Condi: Humiliation and lack of respect between US & Arab world did not start, will not end with Bush

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice acknowledged Monday that the Bush administration fell short of goals it had set for itself but maintained that history would prove it right.

In an interview with AFP, the chief US diplomat conceded that eight years after President George W. Bush came to power, his administration's popularity was "not very great" in the Arab world.

"I understand that a lot of the history between the US and the Arab world is one that Arabs look to as a time of humiliation and of lack of respect. That did not start with President Bush and it will not merely end with President Bush," she said.

"Over time I think that the fact that America has stood for the Arab world and for the Arabs to have the same rights and the same ability to live in freedom as we have, that that will ultimately be respected," Rice said.

From Wiki

Mesopotamia (from the Greek meaning "land between the rivers") is the area of the Tigris-Euphrates river
system, along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, largely corresponding to modern Iraq, as well as some parts
of northeastern Syria, some parts of southeastern Turkey, and some parts of the Kh?zest?n Province of
southwestern Iran.

Commonly known as the "cradle of civilization", Bronze Age Mesopotamia included Sumer, Akkadian, Babylonian
and Assyrian empires. In the Iron Age, it was ruled by the Neo-Assyrian Empire and Neo-Babylonian Empire, and
later conquered by the Achaemenid Empire. It mostly remained under Persian rule until the 7th century Islamic
conquest of the Sassanid Empire. Under the Caliphate, the region came to be known as Iraq.

3. Oh, yes. Remember all those shoes they threw at Clinton, Carter, Pappy Bush and Reagan? No?
Neither do I.

In fact, I don't remember anyone ever throwing a shoe at a U.S. President or pResident until Der Chimpenfuhrer.

5. Condi Rice is the first Sec. of State I have ever heard about ......
.... who was asked not to make a visit by country. And George W bush
was the first U.S. President who traveled 1/2 round the world .... Jordan
to meet w/ Malki ..... who got stood up by another country's leader.

Even bush knows that "they" are hated world wide so they are trying
to use the cover that "history will judge them better."

4. Semi True
But that doesn't excuse her and her administrations making the problem worse. If you go to the doctor and complain of a cold and she gives you medicines that make things a lot worse and kill you, well she can't say "Yeah but you had that cold before I came near you."

6. Wasn't she predicting a breakthrough just six months ago?
After seven years of alternately neglecting and exacerbating the problems in the Middle East, wasn't Dr. Rice predicting that in the last few months of 2008 the Bush administration would have everything licked into shape?

Yep, found it:

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate these people?
