First, man, that shit is ICE COLD! Imagine, getting the word you're being pardoned and then WHAMMO! Damn! That's some cruel ass shit!

What the hell is really going on here? Chimpy did NOT all of a sudden get a conscience and decide not to pardon him because of the campaign contributions. I mean those contributions were probably WHY the pardon was issued in the first place. :shrug:

One thing to think about. Since Bush is making a precedent of reversing pardons, then any President in the future can reverse a pardon.

If these were different times, I believe W wouldn't give a flying f*ck. But given the housing crisis, the Madoff fraud, people already getting kicked out of their homes as a record level as a direct result of his policies, pardoning a real estate scam artist would be a major stain on his legacy just as his handlers are finally letting him see some real news and understand how much he is hated. I don't think he wants to be hated. He is a pathological, lying fuck...but he can tap dance around all the war and economic issues ("9-11!"), but it would be impossible to explain any justification for pardoning a contributor except for a quid pro quo. Even Bush isn't that stupid. Well...okay, but this is one that is a lot more transparently, provably illegal, that even Tennessee and Mississippi Republicans can understand.

13. Well, it's been done before, somebody here came up with the case

so there is a legal precedent.

I think what happened was the party bosses just shoved it under Stupid's nose and he signed it. Two days later, the reason for it--a lavish contribution to the party--was all over the net and the party bosses realized they had a scandal on their hands. They then shoved the revocation under Stupid's nose.

What they're hoping is that the media won't pick it up and alas, they're right about that. The media are still sleeping off the corporate banquet of the last 8 years, too torpid to realize just what their benefactors have been up to and too overstuffed to care.

Meanwhile, Leonard Peltier is still in prison, waiting for the FBI guys who railroaded him to die of old age.
