Poll question: A presidential poll: Who should be President based upon qualifications/viewpoint/voting record

This isn't about popularity or about who you think has a CHANCE of winning.. it is about who you think SHOULD win and is the person who can actually fix this mess at home and abroad.

Is there anyone out there who can actually undo all the damage the BushCoup has generated? Is it even possible?

I would like to know your views on this, so please state your opinions whether you vote or not.

who uncovered, investigated and exposed more government corruption than any in modern history.

I don't have a "favorite candidate" - it's too early for that IMO, but I do think he has the most experience and intelligence, and is probably the person who could do the best job of TRYING to undo all the damage.

I think undoing some of the damage is possible, but it will take some time. It's surely not going to happen overnight. Some things cannot be undone, like lives lost in this illegal war, soldiers maimed for life, both physically and psychologically, and the new generation of terrorists we've created - those are things we'll have to deal with, but can't undo.

Our democracy, our standing in the world, government for and by the people - those things can be returned to us, and foreign policy surely can be changed so that not everyone hates us or fears us. I think he could also do the best job in getting us out of Iraq.

The middle east is a tinder box and people keep throwing matches. Wes Clark has been on the job there for us us against the neocons and other adventurers since day one, and he has never stopped fighting for sanity. but in the real world, I don't think Al will run again. I think he's moved on and that the fire in his belly is focused on his battle against global warming.

So, who will get to clean up Bush's mess? It's amazing to me that there are so many people anxious to take on this gargantuan task.

I saw him speak last year and he's got a good message. After I saw his credentials I was even more impressed. Still I had to vote for Gore of those listed. Not only does he deserve it but (and despite what the rw media have portrayed) he's got the intelligence and the foresight to make a great president. IMHO of course.

34. Gov. Richardson is a chameleon

That's one characteristic (of many) that makes him an ultra-effective diplomat, he really can be all things to all people, blends in well with the surroundings, and he's quick enough on the uptake to grasp the essence of complicated situations almost instantly.

He used to be my rep back when I lived in northern NM.

Ideally I wouldn't want him as my president, but he's sharp and versatile enough to fit in damn near anywhere else. Diplomacy is his forte, not leadership. I wouldn't trust him to stand up for the Right Things in the face of adversity without compromising his position, no, not really. I guess I want the president to be strong-willed and feisty as well as intelligent and diplomatic. Richardson would be great as Sec. of State, UN Ambassador (again), ambassador to any "difficult" country (e.g. Iran, Venezuela), maybe even VP.
