Some People are Just Crazy
Earlier this morning I was watching a news story about sex education on ABC's Good Morning America. I thought one of the comments made by a woman who is against the schools in her district teaching about sexual orinentation was just crazy. The woman said that she thought it was wrong for the school to teach tolerance toward people who choose a lifestyle that many of the children have been taught is wrong. I do not care whether or not it is a choice I think kids to be taught to be tolerant to people who are different from them. I do not see why kids should be allowed to treat someone horrible just because they are different. My question to this woman would be when I have kids would it be right for me to teach my kids to beat up all Republicans?

2. As the world gets smaller
it is vital that we all learn tolerance.

4. My advice to her: pay more money to send your kid to a school that teaches what you want
If you don't like what is in the public schools don't send your kids there. If there isn't a private school that teaches what you want, form one. She has a right to have her children educated as she sees fit, right or wrong, she just doesn't have that right to an absolute in the public school system.

And why would the school be teaching that we should only tolerate people's "lifestyles," shouldn't they teach that we should accept people? Racists and bigots for the most part tolerate people they hate.

5. I don't have kids,
But one of my co-workers, and a good friend has his daughter in a private High School, and pays damn near more than I did for College.

I'm also not to sure that the "tolerance" of anything is any better in a private school, it will just look better on her college applications. I think tolerance and acceptance is taught at home, I doubt there is a teacher anywhere that could do a better job than parents.

but again, I have no kids of my own, just one niece.

6. This is the type of woman that would encourage her kids to attend lynches in the 50's.
