An open letter to Senator Hillary Clinton.
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 02:42 PM by liberaldemocrat7
For now I have decided not to support you for President and will not vote for you in the New York Primary unless you do the following:

enact into law a prescription drug benefit in Medicare Part B covering 80 percent of medication cost with no extra premiums, no extra deductibles, no coverage gap, no means test, such that a retired person on social security or a disabled person on social security disability can go to a pharmacy, show a medicare part B endorsed card and pay only 20 percent of the medication cost for any medication. This will allow retired and disabled people vote with their feet and leave Medicare Part D, a seriously deliberately flawed program designed for privatizing medicare. Perhaps you can repeal Medicare Part D. In any case at least enact this new prescription drug benefit in Medicare part B.

Repeal the means test for Medicare Part B that the Republicans snuck into the medicare law of 2003.

enact into law a $10 an hour minimum wage.

You get these enacted and I will vote for you. I turned away from you because you act too moderate and you supported a ban on flag burning and also want to find common ground with the abortion banners.

Get the progressive legislation enacted this year or kiss your liberal base good bye Senator Clinton. Oh and I'm also boycotting Republican contributors to also help get the progressive legislation done. Now do your part Senator Clinton.

As of now I lean towards Al Gore and if he does not run I lean towards John Edwards.

Please send this to your friends and even send it to senator Clinton, as your own.

2. Senator Clinton respectfully requests that you kiss her pale white ass....
I kid, I kid.

Only not really.

Also, she is not currently a queen. I don't think she could over-ride the prescription drug law even if she wanted to.

Besides her internal polling almost certainly shows her winning New York with, like, 65 percent of the vote.

Watching the Hillary! juggernaut take on the Ebays is going to be endlessly entertaining over the next two years. I don't even like Hillary! and I'm entertained by it.

3. How will Hillary pass the minimum wage hike?
They couldn't get a cloture vote -- that's her fault?

4. I do hope you used grammar and spell check ...
... as well as slightly toning down the accusations.
The letter is a little, um ... sharp.
If it were sent to me, I'd prolly say 'fuck off' under my breath as I toss it in the garbage.

Just my humble opinion.

6. Beating the forces arrayed to destroy
her will not necessarily benefit the party or help the needs of the times. And could backfire into reviving the hate spew that fuels GOP myth-making. Beating the progressives who had better insight to saving us from a monstrous war will not help truth or leadership nor display the victory of what is needed in trying times. There will be no change in self, in action or in reaction no matter if there is a culiminating personal victory.

Too often the temptations of seeking the highest office miss the opportunities to accomplish the highest good. Take a shortcut to really serving the nation by letting stronger candidates lead the wave and deflate the hate. Hate from the right, from the defensive DLC, from progressives, that will be stirred up by your needless reach for power. The adffirmation of yourself over the defamation will come through an act of greatness not reflexive advantage in seeking the presidency. Note Gore, Carter, Dean, etc, whose lasting service came outside this quest. the work of Bill Clinton in changing history is now a greater effort by far than the success in restoring its power.

See what IS changing and those things that will not, and in yourself what will not change to make things better. Even a great advantage or a victory can be disastrous in the times we now live in.
