Remember that story about the woman finding 10 grand in a box of Annies crackers?
She returned the money to its rightful owner.

As it turns out, an employee of that cracker company is a long-time J-Walk Blog reader. And she was kind enough to send me an advance copy of a press release that goes out tomorrow. In other words, this is a SCOOP, ladies and germs.

In recognition of the Rogoff family's good deed, Annie's is making a donation of $10,000 to the food bank of their choice, which is the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The Today Show mentioned the story and Annie's during the show this morning.

Annie's motto, by the way, is "Eat Responsibly. Act Responsibly."

11. life savings
Edited on Tue Dec-30-08 08:54 PM by mbergen
I read the women had taken her life savings out of the bank - worried because of the economic crisis, and put it in the cracker box thinking it would be safe, then forgot and returned the box of crackers - later was frantic after she'd realized what she'd done.

The store should have thrown them away, but mistakenly put them back on the shelf and they were bought by the person that found the money in the box and returned it.

12. wow!
Ithought you were going to say she turned out to be some kind of a fraud, like the lady who supposedly found the finger in wendy's chili.
