CNN...Politico.com report on Edwards is wrong
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 11:08 AM by cally
Crowley reporting that the Edwards campaign is reporting that the Politico.com report is wrong. I hope so!!

on edit:

As a breast cancer survivor, this is my guess. I suspect they found a lump on Monday or got results from a mamogram. She may be scheduled for more tests like a biopsy. Not good, but I hope that's all it is.

2. politico.com is a RW hack operation
that sprouted up out of nowhere and is "suddenly" recognized by the media.
Love to know WHO funds that one.

11. It was founded by John Harris and Jim VandeHei from the Washington Post.

20. From what I read, it's self supporting, relying on the print version's advertising.

17. I beg to differ ... and it's no secret who funds it.
First, as to the supposed RW hackery -- Politico was cofounded by WaPo reporters John Harris and Jim Vandehei. Harris wrote "The Survivor," hailed by both the left and the right (by both Arthur Schlesinger and Brit Hume, no less) as a balanced, fair look at the Clinton administration. Vandehei has written for liberal outlets such as the New Republic.

As for the funding, Harris and Vandehei used seed money from Robert Allbritton, a fellow who owns several TV stations and I don't believe is known as a RW fundraiser.

In fact, Politico.com is refreshingly even-handed, no matter how grating that may be from a partisan standpoint.

26. Well, I'd kinda beg to differ with that thread too...
after all, it doesn't mention Allbritton at all, and barely mentions Harris and Vanderhei. Instead, it seems to just assume, based on the employment of Mike Allen and the fact that the president basically went, "Huh?" when the site was mentioned, that the whole site must be some sort of RW trick. I don't know that that makes for the best case against politico.com.

Now, whether or not their stories are accurate (see Edwards suspending campaign) or not is an entirely different matter. But I don't think it's fair to call politico a RW attack machine.

9. I fucking hate Tweety. He is such a clueless, tactless moran he
needs to be locked in a closet at MSNBC and never, ever allowed near a microphone again.

Talking about Elizabeth Edwards, he quoted Lyndon Johnson when he decided not to run for re-election, (paraphrasing here) "I'm going back to Texas where they care about you when you die." Somehow he was equating that Elizabeth Edwards heading back to North Carolina to die.

I fucking hate Tweety. (And that he has the whack job Healy talking about anything health related is beyond hypocrisy. She is a neocon of the first order and would stab Edwards and his wife in the back to push her reichwing agenda. She has worked tirelessly to get abortion rights overturned.)

4. I hope he doesn't suspend the campaign, and continues it through surrogates
where he can while showing up when needed, like during the debates. The primary is being rushed at this point, anyway, and slowing it down shouldn't hurt anyone seriously at this point - especially since Edwards has a strong machine already running in some crucial states.

5. They did come out of nowhere, did they not?
I posted this yesterday:

All of the cable whores seem to love them, and talk about them like they are some type of "leading inside experts" and not just another RW funnel of crap.

Chris Matthews almost came in his pants, the day that he had Allen on his MSNBC show he was so excited.

What's worse, is that "The Politico" is teaming with MSNBC for some giant debate that's coming up and I can't recall what party it's covering.

feel incredibly optimistic

13. I'm sending good thoughts Elizabeth's way.
She is a wonderful lady, and would make an excellent First Lady. Likely one of the nicest since Jackie Kennedy. Elizabeth is kind, concerned about others, fair, supportive, and we need that in the White House, instead of what we have now.

My best to the Edwards. I hope the news is good news.
