Elizabeth lost many pounds...I'm going to risk posting it

I'm posting this because I know how hard it is. I want to acknowledge that she went after her disease and lost the weight. One of the risk factors is weight. I know since I decided to lose many pounds after my diagnosis of breast cancer.

So, thank you again DUer Elizabeth Edwards for showing us the way. You've taken your disease and used it to teach us.

1. I noticed that, too. Her size never seemed to diminish her self-confidence.

Clearly, she took off some weight as part of an overall plan to get healthy. Along with everything else she's done to meet this challenge head on, the weight loss has undoubtedly improved her prognosis. Elizabeth Edwards is a wonderful role model on SO many levels, isn't she?

Now, I think I'll get out in the sunshine and take a walk around the block.

2. Cancer can do that to a person

It's been a while since her treatment but it could be an underlying cause of the weight loss. My mom lost 40 pounds last year on Chemo. Just saying. But it's better for her regardless of course.
