Senate Committee Asks to Hear from Gonzales Deputy

Mark it on the calendar. The Senate Judiciary Committee wants to hear from Kyle Sampson (aka "the fall guy"), Alberto Gonzales' recently resigned chief of staff, at an open hearing next Thursday.

In a letter sent today to Sampson's lawyer signed by committee chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and ranking member Arlen Specter (R-PA), the committee requested Sampson's "assurance" that he "will appear voluntarily at that time and that a subpoena will not be necessary." The committee has already voted to authorize such a subpoena last week.

Sampson will be the sole witness at the hearing.

what everyone else did? I haven't heard or read any comments from him since he "stepped down".

7. Sampson is a puke lapdog all the way

He has to be under oath and questioned hard. I'm sure his superiors have made damn sure he's well cared for after his "resignation" from the DOJ. I really hope they catch him in something, he absolutely makes me sick. Did you read his emails about firing the attorneys, he was more than happy to let them go. These "company men" make me want to vomit.

I hope he can't find another job for a long, long time, maybe nice to see his house go on the market as a foreclosure. That's not going to happen though, Gonzo, Shrub and KKKarl are sure to have a nice little no-show job for him at some "think tank" or another.
