Because his win would, in turn, be a huge help to cancer research in the end (AND so much more). A better way IMO.

20. Elizabeth Edwards is online on the johnedwards.com site
So we can ask her. I expect some direction from her soon.

She was thanking everyone for how they have responded: staff, donors, supporters.

I personally think that sending flowers is good, better if not all arrive at once. I spoke with one of florist shops here in Chapel Hill (owned by a friend) and they have received some orders for her but had not been "slammed" yet.

I am certain that she would appreciate contributions to the Edwards campaign.

And the same for cancer research, treatment, etc. Don't know whether she would prefer Amer. Cancer or something closer to home like the Linberger Center at the University of North Carolina.

BTW Mother Nature has already begun showering Chapel Hill with flowers. Blooms now appearing everywhere. Over the next six weeks, seemingly everything will be in full bloom in the Southern Part of Heaven.

4. I Have A Hunch She's Above Making This Political
Just a hunch. Of course she cares about her huaband's campaign, but if this turns into a "Let's use Elizabth's cancer to win this race," it will leave a bad taste in people's mouths in my opinion. That won't do his campaign any good. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I do think that people will be sympathetic and it will help. to a degree. Right now, I am just happy that the campaign goes on and that Elizabeth is getting excellent medical care. I wish nothing but the best for both of them.

9. I don't think it should be used to win a race and NOT what I am suggesting!
That's a terrible thought! But don't you agree that John's win would be a huge and direct win for cancer research. Do you follow his campaign?

11. Yes, A Win By Edwards Would Be Good For cancer Research
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 12:44 PM by Dinger
I follow his campaign, and I did in 2004, after my candidate dropped out & threw his support to the Kerry/Edwards campaign. I am supporting someone else this time, but I am trying to do a better job of learning about the other candidates than I did last time, since we really don't know for sure who will get the Democratic nomination. Maybe the best person win!:)

P.S. I didn't mean to suggest you wanted Elizabeth to use her illness politically. I am indeed sorry if you thought that. I sincerely meant that she might want any donations for cancer to be given directly to cancer research as early as possible.

Here's a link I posted last night. The pics are from the 2004 campaign. I took pics at all of the Kerru/Edwards events I attended. I have tons more if you'd like to see them.:)

13. I do not think
that is what the OP suggests. I think the idea is that there are several ways to show support.

16. I'm sorry, but I think it would be far better to donate
to a fund for those with cancer without either insurance or a lot of money. They are the ones who would need it the most.

19. I doubt she would use it for some kind of poltical advantage, my guess is that she would say to make
a donation to some cancer organization where they could use the money now.
