We are further encouraged, and our resolve has been strengthened, by today's conviction of I. Lewis Scooter Libby on multiple counts of obstruction of justice, perjury and making false statements. The verdict was a resounding declaration that government officials who violate the public trust will be held accountable. However, the truth surrounding Libby, Rove and Cheney's illegal actions continues to be suppressed as both Libby and the Vice President successfully avoided taking the stand during the trial.

The pursuit of the truth and accountability will now shift to our pending civil suit. The stakes are high, and the defendants have already put their almost limitless resources to work, stalling justice with motions to dismiss and with claims of immunity.

I bet they are trying to stall with claims of immunity, though I cannot imagine on what basis they can claim that, especially Rove. You'd think this unelected varmint was king of the world the way they treat him. Time for the scales of justice to fall on his head.
