Debate on war funding beginning on C-Span

It should be noted that the Republicans are going to vote against this because of the pork that has been packed into it. So there's about 200 no votes. Need at least 20 Democrats to bring this thing down

1. I want it passed. It does contain the withdrawal date of 9/2008 and I want to see Bush veto his
funding for the war.

2. Umm, and how can you be so sure Shrub won't just put a signing statement
Removing the withdrawal provision?

3. He's said he'd veto it because it's not a 'clean' funding bill, but has over
$21 billion in 'pork' attached as well. I think the Dems have a strategy and getting this passed is just the beginning.

5. They are worse than the House when it comes to bending over for Shrub
I don't want to take the chance of any funding coming before Shrub's desk. And if that means it has to be Republicans and a few progressives who bring this down, so be it

6. So, you want to hand Bush a 'clean' bill that contains nothing accept the $103 billion in troop
funding? This is the best chance we'll probably get to put a end date on Iraq.
