Was the idea of 'values voters' giving the election to Bush created long before the 2004 election?

Was the idea of 'values voters' giving the election to Bush created long before the 2004 election?

A site that is close to the now infamous gwb43.com is valuesteamforbush.com

Like several sites connected to this growing scandal in itself connected to the USA purge, valuesteamforbush.com is devoid of any content, but by just looking at the title, one can get the idea that it's connected to the army of 'values voters' who support Bush and do what the leaders of the 'christian' Right say.

There's just one problem however, this site was created half a year before the election even took place.

2. I'm not sure I see the fire
I mean insofar as values voters gave the election to Bush (a premise I'm not sure of anyway), I would gather you could break the values voters down into two groups. A smaller group of hardcore organized religious fundamentalists and the much larger group of Christians and Jews who were swayed by values talk. People in the first group have been working for Bush in various guises since before the 2000 election; it doesn't seem surprising that they would register this sort of site.

Maybe I'm missing something.

3. The first site wasn't registered by a religious group or anything like that
It belongs to the Republican Party, the second one although it looks anonymous, I do believe it's maintained by the Bush Administration friendly Southern Baptist Convention.

4. So what is your argument?
That "Values voters" were manipulated into voting for Bush on purpose? I would think that's what a campaign is all about.

5. I've gone through only a few Google hits using the phrase
"values voters" 2003 -2004 -2005 -2006 -2007

I haven't found anything preceding the November election.

That phrase "values voters" seemed to come out of nowhere fast the day after the election, didn't it?

7. Think it's worth a DU Call for Research Action? See if anyone can find a reference
the term "values voters" before November 2004? I'm amazed at how quickly people find stuff on the internets.
