1. Alaska and Hawaii both, this year!
Half a century!

Congratulations!

And what irony - both states produced presidential campaign contenders this time, in both cases, the "noisiest" ticket mate, news- and buzz-wise (Obama and palin), and both of them groundbreaking (Obama, of course, and palin because she was a "first" for the GOP, at least). And the smallest one of the two states (geographically, at least) scored the biggest victory over the giant one.

You and I have had some really great conversations about what goes on up in Alaska, Blue_In_AK, and I've really appreciated your insights, especially about "that woman" you all have to contend with for, I guess, another couple of years before you might be able to vote her out.

I will DEFINITELY be pulling for you on THAT one!!!
