An important act beginning to make its way through the leg. process: Executive Branch Reform Act
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 02:45 PM by izzybeans
I don't know why I just heard of this act but I'd thought I'd pass it along. The Waxman and Davis are the cosponsers. It is very focused on curtailing specific acts of Executive abuses of power.

Anyway, just passing it along in case you haven't heard. This is something that needs to be demanded. It's a huge stockpile of ammunition in the current war over executive oversight.

On Edit: this needs to be on the minds of every member of the voting public.

3. Armstrong Williams is a black conservative pundit
caught taking money from the White House to push the No Child Left Behind act.

5. Who for some mystifying reason is promoted as part of the Air America lineup in NY.
This sack o'willy and his co-hort (some weird guy) replaced Rachel Maddow in the mornings when AAR moved to WWRL from WLIB. At first I shrugged it off as just local station programming independent of AAR, but then I heard AAR include his show in their promos. :wtf:

6. I don't know what to make of it really. He contradicts himself on that one.
At first I was hopeful but now I'm fairly sure (because of that fact re: Plame) this legislation is being made to go where good legislation goes to do.

I can't square why davis helped draft it, if he isn't so concerned about abuses of power such as Plame.

8. I've been saying that baaaaastid is BEATABLE in VA. He just might be running
scared. When he shat all over Valerie, he also shat all over his constituents who work for the Federal government. And that is NOT a small number of folk, either.

9. I know but he drafted this before the hearing. I think he's padding his
oversight credentials on paper while playing sycophant in practice.

11. He likely already had his marching orders from the WH!!! But indeed he is playing both ends against
the middle.

People aren't stupid, though.

I hope you are right.

14. I really do. VA is changing, as the defeat of Macacawitz illustrated.
I also think a Dem could take Warner's seat, too--maybe even a Dem named WARNER!!!

13. Kick for visibility
I think this act is important and am afraid it will sit and languish without publicity.
