Gingrich: 2008 race should avoid private lives of candidates
By ROSE FRENCH, Associated Press Writer

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is considering whether to run for president, said on Tuesday the personal lives of White House hopefuls shouldn't become an issue in the 2008 campaign.

Earlier this month Gingrich went on Focus on the Family founder James Dobson's radio program to confess and seek forgiveness for his own extramarital affair committed while he pursued President Clinton's impeachment in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

The former Georgia congressman said he's received a positive response from colleagues and others.

''Most Americans are very positive and very receptive,'' Gingrich said before a speech at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. ''Overall, it's been remarkable how positive people have been.''

Gingrich said whoever the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees are, he hoped they would discuss issues in a bipartisan manner and at length — not just in short soundbites in the media.

3. Quite a contrast to this candidate

Who supports his wife when she has cancer.

Why do the Wingnuts believe they have moral authority when they do the opposite of what they say?

4. Why is it any surprise our nation is going to hell when such vile, vicious people like Newt
Gingrich are allowed to SPEAK AT VANDERBILT?????

What kind of racist, misogynistic institution would allow such a human to be regarded as worthy of listening to?

5. SNARK!!
Newt, make a very pubic apology to President Bill Clinton for trying to destory his public and personal lives in the 90's before you start demanding "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

14. Not on your miserable fuckin' life, Newt. You fat fuck hypocrit.
You can say what you want about liberals, gays, or anyone else. But to cheat on your wife is pretty bad. To do it while she's sick with cancer is worse. But to deliver divorce papers to her in the hospital while she's trying to recover is inexcusable.

What the hell do you think your God is going to say to you about that? Do you think because you're an important man in the GOP you're going to get cut some slack from the big guy in the sky? No fuckin' way.

What a disgrace, and Focus on the Family is supporting this guy. So, I guess that means they also support extramarital affairs and traumatizing former loved ones while they try to recover from a major illness.

Give me a gay President ANY DAY over a cheatin', hypocritcal, fat fuck, bigot, asshole, judgemental prick. We'll all be better off.

In the words of Dick Cheney, "Fuck yourself."

(My apologies for the language, but Newt Gingrich especially gets my blood pressure up. He is, after all, largely responsible for the mess we're in today. And hey, what the heck, if the Vice President can say it on the Senate floor to a Senator, it must be OK, right?)
