Egypt Blocks Pro-Gaza Protest, Israel Allows
(IsraelNN.com) Egypt prevented hundreds of people from protesting Israel's “Cast Lead” operation in Gaza on Monday, according to Reuters. The Muslim Brotherhood had organized a protest in the capital city of Cairo.
Police scattered the would-be demonstrators, arresting dozens. Several others were arrested when they attempted to regroup and hold the demonstration elsewhere in the city.

SRINAGAR, India: Police in Indian-controlled Kashmir used tear gas and batons to disperse hundreds of angry protesters demonstrating Tuesday against Israel's strikes on Gaza, officials said.
At least 30 people were wounded and 50 more were detained during the protest in Srinagar, Indian Kashmir's main city, a police officer said on condition of anonymity in keeping with department policy.

Behbudov told APA he met with 22 believers detained during the protest action before the Israeli Embassy on January 2. He said 20 of them were Hajj pilgrims. Behbudov said the believers did not consider themselves guilty and demanded to release them. The human right defender said they were detained for 10-15 days according to the court resolution and needed in the court decision to be released. “Tomorrow the committee will appeal Chairman of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev on this issue”.
