Brains! Must ... have ... brains!
More people need to donate their brains to medical research if cures for diseases like dementia are to be found, appeal UK scientists.

They say research is being hampered by a gross shortage of brains and are urging healthy people as well as those with brain disorders to become donors.

Brain research has proved essential for finding new treatments - such as dopamine for Parkinson's disease.

Brain investigator Dr Payam Rezaie called the current situation "dire".

7. Dopamine is a naturally-occurring neurotransmitter.
Dopamine dysregulation is implicated in a wide range of disorders including attention deficits, schizophrenia, and Parkinsonism. In fact, one of the side-effects of antipsychotic drugs is that they can cause Parkinson-like movement disorders (dyskinesias).

8. Apparently many Republicans are living brain-donors.
They only donate the higher parts--the parts involved with judgment and rational thinking--retaining the brainstems and limbic structures necessary for life functions and emotional responses.

12. Republican donor is an oxymoron.
Or is it oxymoran?

15. Oxymoran only when applied to a post-donation Republican.
Anyway, Republicans are generous with things they don't use. They like to give their old clothes to Goodwill for the tax writeoff, and to give their brains to science because they feel so much better about being Republicans after they do it.

11. There'll be an even longer line to FIND it!
I figure it'll take a while for them to realize that they don't need a brain specialist to study booosh's brain -- they need a proctologist.

I think Bush's brain is likely to be not just a turd, but a petrified turd.

19. Sign up cyclists who don't wear helmets.
And listen to the great Jonathan Coulton song about middle-management zombies, "Re: Your Brains"...

Hey-ya, Tom' it’s Bob from the office down the hall
Good to see you, buddy; how’ve you been?
Thing have been OK for me except that I’m a zombie now
I really wish you’d let us in.
I think I speak for all of us when I say I understand
Why you folks might hesitate to submit to our demand,
But here’s an FYI: you’re all gonna die, screaming...

(CHORUS)

All we want to do is eat your brains,
We’re not unreasonable; I mean, no one’s gonna eat your eyes.
All we want to do is eat your brains,
We’re at an impasse here; maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors,
We’ll all come inside and eat your brains.
