Well, put up or shut up, Jeb.
Friends: Jeb Bush may not run for SenateJan. 6, 2009 at 2:07 PM
UPI ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush may turn down pleas for him to run for the U.S. Senate because of family considerations, friends say.
Even though Republican Party officials are excited at the prospect of Bush, brother U.S. President George Bush, running for a seat to be vacated by GOP Sen. Mel Martinez, others say he may disappoint them, the St. Petersburg Times reported Tuesday.
"I know it's a big struggle for him," former Florida Republican Chairman Al Cardenas told the newspaper. Cardenas, who says he believes Bush, 55, is still undecided, added, "As his friend, I think maybe he's better off where he is. As a Republican who loves his party so much, I know we need him."
Unnamed friends told the newspaper that despite Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush, touting him on national television as a terrific potential future senator or U.S. president, he's seriously weighing the toll a Senate run would take on his family and his consulting business.
.....
Perhaps Jeb is more concerned about the toll a Senate run would have on him because of THIS family:
