The Sweetest thing I 've seen on TV in ages - Jacob Begich meeting P.E. Obama

That was sheer joy.

At a chance meeting Monday, the Begich family was at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., when Obama walked past.

Begich was holding his son when 6-year-old Jacob Begich shouted out to Obama.

The president-elect walked across the wide corridor toward Jacob and asked him, "What's going on, man?"

Mark Begich tells Anchorage television station KTUU that his very excited son shook hands with Obama, and replied, "Nothing."

Mark Begich says Jacob then kept saying, over and over again, "I met the president! I met Obama!"

2. Thank you!
Talk about adorable. That kid was just exploding with joy.

And did you see what Obama did after he greeted the kid? He went right to Begich's wife, and brought her in close; then they all posed for a picture.

His smoothness and attention to detail just slay me. I love him.

6. Tweety has it?
OK, I'll catch him at seven.

That's one for the ages, truly.

Imagine when that kid grows up and shows that clip to his kids.

Imagine..................

10. Anyone who's raising a kid like that,
a little boy who's smart and self-possessed enough to yell "Obama! Obama!" gets my vote as Parent of the Year.

Parents Of The Year.

What an utterly charming moment.

I have this gorgeous feeling that we're going to see more and more moments like that during the next four - eight? - years.

Confidence is a wonderful thing. What's more Jacob must have seen the campaign every step of the way.

8. All of NBC will have it by now
It's a winner.
Watch the other guys in the background laughing as well. I love six year olds.
Bush would have ignored the kid.

19. I like his giddy laugh
The young man was ecstatic.

Here's a pic from yesterday that gave me the warm fuzzies:
