THANK YOU, HOWARD DEAN
I just wanted to get that off my chest. You're the reason I became a full-fledged Democrat in 2003.

We will never forget the contributions you have made to the Democratic Party.

I just hope that we can keep your spirit alive over the next few decades.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

:applause:

4. Howard Dean is a hero
i love the guy, and feel disappointed that he's not part of the Obama administration. (I was a Clarkie in '04, but admired Dean.)

If DU plans to do something for him, like sending roses or a donation in his name, count me in.

6. I hope Obama appreciates what Howard Dean accomplished...
...both with his grassroots YOU HAVE THE POWER campaign and with his 50-State Strategy.

Sometimes it seems as if Barack is willing to ride the coattails of others (Boomer civil rights activists, guys like Dean) without acknowledging or rewarding them.

9. PE Obama has decided that to survive in Washing the DC he will need the strong arm help of the DLC.
I am sure he appreciates the help Dean and the hundreds of thousands of us grassrooters, but we did all we could and now he needs Clinton, Emanuel, Davis and the DLC to survive. We can hope he will throw us a bone once in a while, I think he will, but we just have to stay mobilized for 2010. Our first goal is to keep a Democrat in the Presidency and Democrats in Congress. Our second goal is to push them to be progressive.

country and his people keeps on....???

Or will be return to country doctor...?

57. Yes, Howard Dean's work should be rewarded, if it is appreciated . . .
but that's the question --

Obviously, Rahm/DLC hate Dean -- and progressive strategies --

they want more movement to the right, more corporate agenda -- and more

Republicanism in the Democratic Party.

I would suggest that that kind of DLC-thinking can also effect DU very negatively.

35. It's the reason I resigned from the Democratic Party
after what I watched the entrenched Democrats do to him in 2004. After 30 years of VERY hard work, being an e-board member, chairs on several committees, walking the streets and sitting at tables registering voters, THOUSANDS of dollars donated, and so much more, I no longer wanted to be associated with a party that did such things to one of its members AND the progressives. And look how they're treating him now. Sanjay Gupta?????? Christ!

I've always thought the DLC deliberately stymied Howard's aspirations to be president by selecting him as chairman & stipulating that he not run for president in '08.

And how I've hated the idea that Howard couldn't speak out what he must have truly felt about the goings-on during the last 4 miserable years.

Although I think I was actually born a Democrat--because my views have never wavered or changed much, I have sympathy for those who have been awakened more recently.
So I do thank Howard for bringing many people into the fold and agree that he will be missed tremendously.
I also hope that Mr. Kane will look to Howard for advice, and become more flexible on some of his views, especially on womens' rights.
