Do you think Karl Rove uses stories in the news to create support for BushCo? Talking to his base?

Talk about exploitation!!!

Why did Gonzales come up with that line out of the clear blue? Does he have some kind of special claim on the issue of protecting children?

4. Why isn't *this* a national story?
I heard for days about a boy who was lost in the woods for a few days after he wandered away from camp, but this little boy's story gets only local attention.

Can the press really be that biased about what stories they cover?

BTW--that boy in the woods wandered away because he wanted a "grand adventure". And I think he should pay for his rescue. Not his parents--him. He should have to go find a job and pay back every cent they used to find him.

This GA story just makes me ill. Goodness, why were these people still allowed to roam the streets?

7. I don't know.
The ones who make that decision aren't us. I don't understand them. Was there more money in the other story somehow?

When I saw him say the thing on CNN, was for some "Protecting Our Children" type deal.

UPDATE: "Project Safe Childhood"

Yahoo/AP photo/caption:

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales listens during the roundtable discussion regarding Project Safe Childhood in St. Louis on March 22, 2007. Several Democrats in Congress have called on Gonzales to resign in the wake of a mounting political firestorm over his Justice Department's dismissal of eight U.S. federal prosecutors. 6. Okay, so he was at a child safety conference.
Interesting setting to make statements about his response to the corruption of the Justice department.

I don't believe these folks do anything that isn't strategically scripted.

8. Protection and children
the first memes the right uses as an excuse for total power.

How dare we say we're against the kids, right? It's like being against the troops.

Except that the kids deserve freedom too! And so do the troops! And that is what they would relieve them of!

Using the children and the troops and making victims out of them. Typical right wing meme.
