The Circuit City pop-up almost makes
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 11:03 PM by spotbird
DU unusable.

Advertising is necessary, but this is out of control.

On edit:

There seems to be a consensus in the comments that my experience is unique, which I'm very happy to hear, for the most part.

Any suggestions to make it go away? I have antiviral, and, I thought, anti-spy ware protections, so what is the problem?

1. A donation makes them go away.
DU is worth giving a few bucks, and likely so is ending your frustration.

3. The pop-up is punitive
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 10:47 PM by spotbird
it will not be effective in the long run.

On edit:

It makes me far less likely to patronize Circuit City. Who likes a business that is so obnoxious?

6. This will make it go away:
http://www.firefox.com

Then download the "ad blocker" software. Problem solved.

10. I logged out
and still don't know what pop-up you're talking about. All I saw was a bunch of McD ads.

12. Maybe I have a spy-ware problem
there is a Circuit City banner that expands to the whole page, over and over.

It's good to know that this isn't sponsored by the site.

17. Circuit City Can Still Afford Ads?
I hope Skinner demanded cash in advance from them.
