2. They seem like good guys

I have a lot of interest in local food movements and there was a foundation out of Pittsburgh that supported local food economies that was also forced to close.

The impact this guy has had on charitable institutions has been staggering

3. Yeah they were a huge donor for Planned Parenthood.
And Planned Parenthood said they were taking a hit from these guys closing shop.

4. A shorter list
might be of people who *weren't* scammed by Madoff. It's astonishing how far-reaching his racket was. The International Olympics Committee lost $5 million. There's a dude (I wish I could remember his name right now) who has a book set to be published in February -- about frauds and how to avoid them -- who got skinned. Even Six Degrees of Separation Kevin Bacon lost some of his fortune.
