Did anyone else see Maria Shriver hosting Larry King tonight and find her OBNOXIOUS
and relentless in trying to get one of the guests to say that John and Elizabeth should NOT continue campaigning? Her guests were Dr. Love, an Oncologist, Cheryl Crow, breast cancer survivor and Tommy Thompson whose wife and daughter are breast cancer survivors. Thompson is also a good friends with Elizabeth and John.

First Maria asked Dr. Love if it was 'wise' for Elizabeth to continue campaigning? The Dr. said that it's good to try to keep your life as normal as possible and she thought as long as Elizabeth is feeling well she should do what she wants. Then Maria asked her if she thought John should be out campaigning when his wife is at home with cancer? "This IS stage 4 cancer!" When the Dr. repeated her answer, same as before, Maria moved on to ask BOTH Cheryl Crow and Tommy Thompson the same damn questions! They BOTH repeated basically the same thing the Dr. said. She was trying her damnedest to get them to say something to further her OBVIOUS freakin' agenda. She was outrageous. Then she asked the Dr. if Elizabeth was being realistic in thinking she could be traipsing all over the country campaigning because she would be going through cancer treatments? The Dr. explained all the treatments to her and Maria seemed to have a difficult time absorbing the fact that life can go on after treatment. "Shouldn't they be thinking about their children? Shouldn't they be at home as a family and spending this time together?" She was just AWFUL! Anyone else see the wench?

If Maria use to be a Democrat, I don't believe she is anymore. She sure tried her best to make Elizabeth and John look bad. It was pathetic.

I'm glad I missed it, I don't care much for her.

5. You're smart. I was switching between her and Scarbough and they BOTH were pissin' me off.
Joe was going after Barbara Walters for letting Rosie stay on The View after saying 911 was an inside job (which it was) and his 2 guests were raggin' on Rosie and Barbara. Switch back to Maria and she was trying to make the Edwards's look bad. Sheesh!

19. I have come to believe that arguing about 9/11
conspiracy/nonconspiracy theories is like arguing religion. Each of us can be totally convinced we are right (or at least unable to prove to the other guy/gal that they are wrong). Each of us can cite writings (Bibles, Korans, conspiracy websites, etc.) that prove our point as far as we are concerned. And other than few converts most just skip over their rants.

Even atheists believe in something, just not in a supreme being. (Count me among them.)

MADE IT HAPPEN ON PURPOSE or LET IT HAPPEN ON PURPOSE. Personally, I lean MIHOP.

out ten years before!
I believe Bush somehow intuited that there would be only 4 planes hijacked, which is why he didn't hustle out of that school.
I believe these buildings were built with special steel, the kind that melts at lower temperatures than other steel, and that also collapses from the vibrations of near-by buildings.
And I believe Mohammed Atta's passport fell to earth unscorched.

14. Her asshat husband is ruining the whole state of California
The only reason his sorry ass got re-elected was that people there considered him the lesser of two evils...until we get a Democratic candidate who DOESN'T essentially say, "Let the illegals flow in and drink freely of our jobs and welfare programs", we may never get a Dem governor elected in California again. :(

Damn, like Larry had this Anna Nicole-fest until he went in for surgery. So I guess we are going to have an Elizabeth-fest until some other sensational news comes up.

7. Well, it IS worthy of making the news. She is the wife of a Democratic Presidential Candidate
and a wonderful, respected and beloved lady. The hour would have been MUCH BETTER without Ahhhhnold's wife hosting the show.

I hope she isn't hosting the entire time Larry's off. I heard he had heart surgery? What happened to him?

17. Tonight it is newsworthy. Afterwards, it's sensationalization.
I think Elizabeth and John wanted so much to get the news out first and hopefully the media let them get back to the bizness of campaigning, living and fighting the good fight. After that, I think they would both be embarrassed if their ordeal got sensationalized past the next day or so.

The woman was obviously trying to get someone to say something bad about John and Elizabeth. Those people have no shame.

12. I almost changed the channel, but I thought that what the guests
were saying (and the fact that they wouldn't bite on what Maria was trying to get them to say) was worth watching.

Frankly, I was surprised at Maria acting that way. I haven't watched her a lot, but I have seen reports she's done where she didn't seem like she was trying to lead the guests into saying a particular thing.

30. Jeebus H. Christ - you're telling me that they put together a whole freaking LK show
revolving aroung EE's recurrence of cancer?!?! Fokkin' ghouls. Jeez - the recurrence was announced at NOON, and within a few hours they had a show put together so a bunch of assholes could sit around and second-guess how John and Elizabeth have chosen to live their lives?!?!!!
This makes me want to :puke: :puke:

FWIW, my niece had a double mastectomy three years ago last week - during the week she turned TWENTY. Even at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, they hadn't had a breast cancer patient there that young. She was a sophomore in college at the time. Well, bottom line is, in spite of the double mastectomies, chemo, multiple stages of surgery for reconstruction (all of this involving travel from Ohio to NYC for the initial surgical eval and all the surgeries and followups, and trips from central Ohio to Cleveland for the chemo) she STILL managed to finish out all her courses that academic year, and she graduated ON TIME with her class last spring. You CAN go on with your life. Her parents (my sister and her husband) insisted that she go to graduate school this academic year, so that she could continue to be covered on their medical insurance. She's doing fine. Proceeding well at grad school, even though she needed a touch-up surgery on her reconstruction this school year. She was even brave enough to give the survivor's speech at her college's Relay For Life last spring, even though she previously had gone to pretty great lengths to hide her diagnosis from others on the small campus, and was only 2 years out from diagnosis. An amazing young woman!
