A reporter informed him that today's flight to Norfolk and back again would be the last flight. Bush mistakenly assumed that his 'get out of Dodge' flight from Washington DC to Dallas would be on AF1.

DOH!!!!

When will I have to stop being exposed to this idiotic moron....oh, that's right, in 9-10 when Obama is sworn in.

The moron actually thought his flight to Dallas, after he is no longer president, would be on AF1.

20. Well, not to defend him but I'd give big odds that 99% of Americans would call
the big blue and white plane hauling his butt back to Dallas on the 20th Air force one. I don't actually know what it officially IS called though when an ex-potus is on board, do you? I do know the man keeps the title "Mr President" for life...

to point out that Bush is so moronic and stupid that he thought he would be traveling back on "Air Force One," which he won't because thank the lord, he will no longer be President. Obama will be.

And it was supposed to be a little moment of celebration for us all .... in thinking how close we are to having this liar out of office.

Cheers!!!!!!

When the PRESIDENT is on a helicopter... That is "Air Force 1"

26. The plane that he flies back to Texas on Jan. 20th will not be Air Force One
as, thank the Lord above, he will no longer be president.

It is not the plane, per se, that is named Air Force One.

Air Force One is a designation and applies to the aircraft that carries the POTUS.

And so, the lying Shrub, even if he did get on the same plane that he was on today to go back to his cul-de-sac in Dallas on Jan. 20th will not be on AF1.....as Air Force One will be waiting on the tarmac for PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

49. Nov. - Jan. are the months that give us that reputation. Pretty much solid
clouds and rain, although this year we got a lot of snow instead.

In spring and fall we have a lot more clouds than the east coast, but not a whole lot more precip.

And our summers (July - Sept) are beautiful -- dry, moderate temps, mostly clear, and no mosquitoes.

But don't tell anyone -- tell them how bad our traffic is. (It really is.) Tell them they don't want to get mixed up in it.

And welcome to DU, argonchloride!

55. Nixon and AF1

Nixon's exit from DC upon his resignation provides the stuff of a standard historical trivia question.

Air Force One has taken off one more times that it has landed, but it has never crashed. How could that be?

When Nixon's plane took off, it was designated Air Force One. His resignation took effect while he was in the air, at which point the plane took on a new call sign.

Whichever plane that the President is flying in is referred to as Air Force One. Even a Piper Cub can be AF1 if the President is on board.
