On The Daily Show's January 5 "Strip Maul" segment, Jon Stewart did what few American television personalities have dared to do: he criticized Israel's campaign against Gaza, making it clear that bombing will not bring peace for Israelis or Palestinians. He mocked the one-sided response of U.S. politicians by calling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict the "Mobius strip of issues because there's only one side!" He's sure to get thousands of complaints, so send Jon a letter of appreciation and then ask all your friends to watch this segment.

1. It was one of his best shows. He is in a class all by himself.

He may make people laugh, but along the way he is one of the few real truth-tellers.
Perhaps, nowadays, that is only way to sneak the truth out to people...in the middle of a laugh line.

Nixon armed r-w religiously fanatical Israel which eventually buried the liberal,

peace-makers in Israel -- but it gave US a foothold in ME/oil.

Bot so different from how our government has used religion all over the world to

wrest control ... not unlike our creating Taliban/Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

We went into Afghanistan 6 months before Russians came in "in order to bait them

into Afghanistan in hopes of giving them a Vietnam-type experience."

9. Yes, I remember his funeral and the speech his granddaughter gave.

One of the few times seeing something on the news made me cry. All because he was killed by by a psycho RW religious nut-case.

Proof positive that the greatest threat to peace as a whole is fundamentalist religion ESPECIALLY your country's (semi-)official religion.
