Safe Canadian Prescription Drugs
Would someone advise me of a reputable sight to purchase a prescription from Canada (or at least price it) That is not covered by Humana after 010109? Thank you in advance. You could pm me if you prefer to answer that way.

1. Unless things have changed
I don't think you can.
Our government does everything it can to "protect us" (cough...the pharm industry)from Canadian drugs yet allows tons of cheap, toxic lead-laden crap from China in to poison us and our pets.

2. I know of someone down there who does it all the time ...
I'll get hold of her and let you know. She's never told me it was illegal? But then I never asked, either.

4. I used these guys before I got poor and dropped everything
but the really cheap generics: http://www.canadianpharmacymeds.com/

You will need to print out the pdf order form and send it with a copy of your prescription. As I recall they do ask for health history since their own docs review your prescription and basically write a duplicate one in Canada to be filled so all the formalities are observed.

You'll get 3 months at a time and it takes about 10 days for refills to come in.

It's technically illegal for us to get our scrips filled in Canada by mail, but nobody is enforcing it much.

Forget about narcotics and other controlled substances, though. The Canadians don't want that kind of trouble and you shouldn't, either.

7. That's pretty much what I just found out too.
The person said as far as she knows it's not legal, but so far she hasn't lost any in the mail. All they do is stop the shipment, she says she doesn't think they don't come after you or anything. And then the pharmacy replaces them.

She sees her doc about once a year, he writes a prescription for a year and faxes it to the pharmacy and they send it out. You can only get a 3 month supply at a time. So, when she gets low she just call them and it takes about 2 weeks to get to her.

And right, no narcotics.

This is the one she's used for a long time:

5. You Might Want To Check Costco
My dad takes a very expensive drug (not available as a generic), he was getting it from Canada. I priced it at Costco, and was astonished it was cheaper.

Also, if you can find a substitute for the drug, you might be able to save a *lot*. Costco and Target (and Walmart, ugh) have hundreds of generics at $5 a month or something like that.

Good luck!

6. I used to use...
http://www.cantrustrx.com, but last I looked their prices had gotten pretty high.

I think a lot of these sites use the same pharmacy.

It's legal for Americans to fill our prescriptions in Canada and bring them back with us into the US. To make it legal for you to not have to take possession personally and transport them yourself, they ask you to sign a power of attorney which authorizes them to "take possession" of your RX for purposes of shipping it to you.

Last time I bought from them, the shipment had a big sticker on it from the FDA, basically saying that they suspect that the package contained contraband, but we're going to let you slide this time, buster. :eyes:
