Can it get any stoopider? I'm afraid so.
My wife's republican sister and her husband invited us over for dinner last night. They live next door. They're very nice people, just not the brightest bulbs on the tree.

I passed on the invitations because, 1) I was having a lot of back, leg, and foot pain, and was pretty much out in la-la land myself, from all the oxycontin I had for lunch and dinner. 2) There were some good football games on, and if I could stay coherent, I'd enjoy them.

So, the wife went by herself, had a nice dinner, but left abruptly a couple of hours later, when the conversation turned to politics. A discussion I avoid at ALL costs when I'm with them, and want to keep a good relationship in the family.

These are people that have been swindled by Madoff clones, at least 5 times in their adult lives, and they started discussing Obama's economic package. The only thing they know about it, they learned from Faux News and Readers Digest.

Oh, how terrible things are going to get under Obama. My wife told them that it took over 8 years to dig ourselves into this hole, and we ain't getting out of it tomorrow. Then the kicker.

They know Obama is corrupt because he's actually out there selling plates with his picture on them. She had to leave then.

And I thought I was fucked up on the Oxycontin. Kool-Aid is much, much stronger.

1. Your sister-in-law is exactly correct. Obama only wanted the presidency
so he could sell plates.

He's a cynical, plate-pimping bastard who is abusing his political celebrity even before taking the oath of office!

Damn him!

8. It is tough to imagine having such a narrow view of the world
They don't see anything beyond Faux Snooze and Reader's Digest. That's enough authority for them. These are the sheep who never question anything.

If they really thought things would get so terrible, they would be motivated to inform themselves further.

13. Wait till he pimps his inauguration DVD - complete with 4 hrs of extras
you know the merchandising is the only reason he wanted the Presidency.

LOL - great post - I have some of these in my own family. Frustrating but good for entertainment.
