Did i really hear this at the press conference?

I was doing laundry at the laundromat so was just kind of listeneing.

He said that Wall Street got drunk and we got the hangover. But wasn't it his administration that did away with all the regulation?

Seems to me that whenever anyone tried to get more regulation because they saw what was happening it was his people that shot them down.

We voted him in and then kept him there - didn't raise holy hell about the stuff that was going on. We should have hit the streets by the millions. But a surprising number of people in this country thought he and his godawful cabal were just OK.

I still don't understand that. Its really kind of scary when you think about it.

But it says a lot that Obama won by a large majority - I think people finally realized just how wrong Bush and his people were - for everyone here and everyone in the world. They were a catastrophe. And I sure hope we don't forget that lesson any time soon.

And I didn't vote for him. But I just cannot understand what there was about him that so many people liked.

I have really good friends who just thought he was wonderful and his direction was the one that this country needed to go in. And these were smart people. It just baffles me how so many people thought he was great. His popularity rating was what - 95% there after 9/11? Unbelievable.

The vote in Ohio was manipulated by the Repuke Sec. of State. If the correct vote would have been recorded, Kerry would have won in Ohio and thus won the presidency.

11. What really makes me mad is that I voted for Democrats

in all elections for congress with the expectation that these people would stand up to this son of a bitch. I can still remember the feeling when Pelosi made her "impeachment is off the table" remark.
So please don't say we all voted him in and kept him there. We tried to use the system to do something to staunch his power grab. But the people we elected let us down.
And from some of the things Obama has said and done, I am not too sure he is going to give us the change we need.
Edit to add - many of us have also tried to put some spine in the press to no avail either.

I was really disappointed in Congress, too. Too many people owe their soul to the company store in this country. Democrats and Republicans.

why would you vote for someone you want to have a beer with anyway!! i remember the days i went drinking. there were people that were great to have a beer with. sure as hell wouldn't want any of them running the country though.

i think the biggest thing about bush that no one seemed to pick up on or too concerned about was the fact that he had never had to take responsibility for anything. he basically got others to clean up his messes. so why are we suprised he left such a mess for everyone else to clean up!!! just sayin! that's why the whole pull yourself up by your bootstraps bs coming from junior was such a joke. i sure do hope we have learned our lesson. i don't want the guy sitting next to me in the bar!! i want someone who is smart and knows how to get things friggin done. nough said.

We did not vote him in, the election in 2000 was handed to him by the Judges. We did not keep him there, the voting machines were fixed and Kerry was a wimp.

there was a budget SURPLUS. i know that. i can only think that things must have been pretty good back then, because folks had the luxury to vote based on reasons other than their own personal survival. but as far as i know, bush didn't win that first one. that was handed to him by the SC.

I feel like I've been holding my breath for 8 years.

I don't agree with everything Obama believes but he is very smart and very thoughtful and I have a lot of faith in him to do the very best that he can.

I never felt like Bush actually gave a damn about anything. He just liked to play the role and then go home and go bike riding or go fishing.

This last 8 years has been totally bizarre.
