It's not the idea that he'll be featuring people sharing "their stories of personal courage"...it's the fact that he'll be using them as props, just as he posed with Military person after Military person after Military person but never attended a SINGLE DAMNED MILITARY FUNERAL.

:grr:

WASHINGTON — President George W. Bush will give a farewell address to the nation Thursday night, billed by the administration as a chance to reflect on his tenure and welcome Barack Obama without fighting old battles one last time.

Bush will deliver the speech, expected to run 10 to 15 minutes, from the ornate East Room of the White House. He will have a small audience of people in the room, chosen for their stories of personal courage.

White House press secretary Dana Perino said Monday that Bush will "uphold the tradition of presidents using farewell addresses to look forward _ by sharing his thoughts on greatest challenges facing the country, and on what it will take to meet them."

The president also will defend his record, Perino said, but will show graciousness toward Obama and not attempt to revisit the old battles of his presidency.

1. He's using the military as props yet again?
No fucking shit. I posted my feelings on CNN earlier today, and I mentioned Bushe's fondness for using our troops as a background for his photo-ops, especially when he needed a boost. That's all he really has.

2. I would just love it if none of the networks covered it...
This schmuck is so pathetic. I cannot believe that there are still people around that admire him, and would step up and allow themselves to be used by him..for their "Stories of personal courage". Is he going to have Joe the Plumber there?

6. It will never happen unfortunately.. He's been paying their parent companies bills
his entire term. I will use my personal choice (while I still have have a little) to not watch him. The excerpts from today's presser was enough for me.

3. He's trying to make it politically difficult for Obama to nail his ass to the wall...
Obama should nail his ass to the wall, anyway.

7. Bring it on, Georgie
The more you act like a petulant brat, the better the chance we can get a consensus on hauling your pitiful ass to the Hague.

Anyone who saw your appalling performance this morning knows you're back on the sauce. Nobody loves a whiny drunk.

9. Forget the Hague, please
We have our own court system, prisons and if congress deems necessary, capital punishment facilities to mete out any amount of justice anyone from him on down has earned. We should show the world that we are strong enough to handle our own dictators / lawbreakers / war criminals without their help.

10. I wonder how many people
will tune in. I know I won't. I only saw clips on KO tonight. That was enough to sicken me. A whole feast of his shit and I'd be sick for a week.
