16. She speaks in such a word-salad that I want to ask for vinaigrette....
http://community.adn.com/adn/node/136534
"I would love for names to be on the blog entries so that people are held accountable when they lie. Now if they're just blogging information or something perhaps to get some curiosity up or to make a point, that's all legit, that's fine. But when people lie and get to hide behind some anonymous name on a blog and then from there, perhaps, that comment, that point made becomes a hard news source, and there's that lack of accountability because of that, it gets very frustrating for the subject matter. And you know, of course, I speak from personal experience being the subject matter when people have lied on those blogs."

Jebus she's scary when she does that.

OTOH... if this keeps up maybe we won't have Sarah to kick around any more on the national scene, which would be a tremendous relief.

Good luck to you Alaskans, though.

Hekate

very old "blame intellectuals" public game that American conservatives have been playing for long. By "intellectuals", I mean people who have at least a passing interest in facts and reality and can read. Sad how diminished that word has become.

"You have to let it go. Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that -- a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked -- what you have to do is let that go."

Ok, does she REALLY think that THAT is the reason people mocked the sentiment that proximity to Russia qualified as foreign policy credentials? WTF. And if she wants people to "move on", maybe she can start by example.

Governor Palin may be technically literate. She knows her alphabet and can string a simple sentence together. But it's clear that neither she nor those closest to her (family, friends and advisors) actually READ.

Blue, your links provide ample evidence of this. Here's another, complete with U-Tube links. Palin thinks the "liberal media" have been giving Caroline Kennedy the softball treatment (compared to how they covered her) reporting on her bid to succeed Secretary of State designate Hillary Clinton as one of New York State's two Senators. From the New York Times:

In a League of Her Own, Palin Swings Away at Couric, Fey and Kennedy - By CLYDE HABERMAN - Published: January 12, 2009

Excerpt:

That Ms. Palin was unaware of the Kennedy coverage makes one wonder how she gets her information. Articles about Ms. Kennedy’s stumbles had circulated for a week before the Ziegler interview. What newspapers and magazines does she read? Hold on. Isn’t that what Katie Couric asked in her CBS interview with Ms. Palin during the campaign? It was a softball question, hardly a gotcha moment. But the governor turned this, too, into a class issue. “To me,” she said, “the question was more along the lines of, ‘Do you read? What do you guys do up there?’”

Well, what DOES she do up there?

Another really wonderful blog entry by not-so-anonymous Andrew Halcro, who apparently has been speaking with the two women who just quit Sarah's administration.

A Day in the Life http://www.andrewhalcro.com/a_day_in_the_life

(Author's Note: Any resemblance to actual real life public figures is either purely coincidental or the result of hours of interviews.)

1/12/09 - With one quick pull, the faux Burberry scarf comes unwrapped from around the governor's neck as she strolls into the office, the clock reads 10:00am. Seems earlier than normal she says to herself.

While the governor huddles in her office with her assistants cackling and complaining about the prior days media coverage and Dan Fagan in general, the governor's husband makes a bee line to the inner office to talk to a staff member.

I want the windows on the Suburban tinted really dark; we need privacy when we drive into town, the first spouse says.

But the staff member knows that the request for darker tinted windows isn't because of a desire for privacy, it's because over the last few months complaints have been filed about the governor's apparent disregard of posted speed limits on the Glenn Highway.

<snip>

Much more and it's all good. :)
