Schlozman believed DC Civil Rights lawyers were 'commies'; enjoyed 'bitchslapping' them
From the report:

"In an e-mail on July 15, 2003, to a former colleague, Schlozman wrote, 'I too get to work with mold spores, but here in Civil Rights, we call them Voting Section attorneys.'

As part of the same e-mail exchange, on July 16, 2003, Schlozman wrote, 'My tentative plans are to gerrymander all of those crazy libs rights out of the section.' In addition, while interim U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Missouri, Schlozman wrote an e-mail to a friend, dated June 15, 2006, contrasting his job as U.S. Attorney with his position in the Civil Rights Division. He wrote:

'It has been months since I felt the need to scream with a blood-curdling cry at some commie, partisan subordinate (i.e., most of the section staff until recently). And I feel like the people I now work with are all complete professionals. What a weird change. Granted, these changes are nice in many respects, but bitchslapping a bunch of attorneys really did get the blood pumping and was even enjoyable once in a while.

I think now it’s all Good Cop for folks there. I much preferred the role of Bad Cop. . . . But perhaps the Division will name an award for me or something. How about the Brad Schlozman Award for Most Effectively Breaking the Will of Liberal Partisan Bureaucrats. I would be happy to come back for the awards ceremony.'"

2. 2006, from the report:

(W)hen we start asking about, "what is your commitment to civil rights?" . . . . ow do you prove that? Usually by membership in some crazy liberal organization or by some participation in some crazy cause. . . . Look, look at my résumé - I didn't have any demonstrated commitment, but I care about the issues. So, I mean, I just want to make sure we don't start confining ourselves to, you know, politburo members because they happen to be a member of some, you know, psychopathic left-wing organization designed to overthrow the government

3. DC U.S. Attorney decided last week not to prosecute Schlozman
UPDATE, from a footnote in the report:

"We referred the findings from our investigation to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia in March 2008. We completed this written report of investigation in July 2008. The U.S. Attorney’s Office informed us on January 9, 2009, of its decision to decline prosecution of Schlozman...

We are now releasing our July 2008 report of investigation."

4. These are the cockroaches that need a light shining upon them
preferably leading to prosecution and permanent disgrace.

The problem with Nixon's administration is that once he skated, everybody lost interest. The brash young men who were groomed during his 6 years have gone on to poison our government every time the GOP got in.

Even if Stupid and Cheney skate--and they will--we'll do very well for our country if we can identify and remove forever all the brash young men and women they have groomed to poison our government from within.

As for Stupid and Cheney, they'll see their legacy of a dictatorial executive branch disgraced and live out their lives with the knowledge that Pinochet was finally brought to justice and the threat is always there for them, too.
