Is it just me or do Congressional Democrats seem to still be missing they are in power?
Going around the political blogs today some are touting headlines about everything from Dems are about ready to give up on oversight of the bank bailouts to looking the other way when it comes to the Bush Adminstration's past practices.

Is it me or do the Dems appear to be forgetting they are the party in Congressional power? I know it's early, but from watching past elections, it will not surprise me if the Rethugs are successful in claiming the Bank bailouts were the Dems fault and so on.

Especially when Bush was just on TV last night blaming the inheriting of the Clinton recession for his own troubles.

1. it's called having leadership which has mastered the art of capitulation
If we had REAL leadership, we still wouldn't be bending over for the pugs.....

2. Our political leadership (at the federal level) is more concerned with retaining power.

10. If they have to capitulate constantly to get it, then it isn't power that they've got.

4. I've noticed a distinct shift in the media and in comments during
Clinton's confirmation hearings. It's an assertiveness I haven't seen in a long time.

5. In what way?
From Rethugs to her or elsewhere.

I'm not watching them because they would probably infuriate me. I imagine there are a lot of double standards going on.

7. First she's incredibly prepared. Vitter from LA.
was trying to create an issue on disclosure regarding the Clinton Initiative foundation. Kerry stepped in and set him straight by rereading the terms already
agreed to, making his issue moot. Hillary closed by saying any addition disclosures above and beyond what was required would be met.

8. Didn't they just ram one hundred and sixty bills down Tom Coburn's throat?
Senator Tom coburn has long been holding up over one hundred and sixty bill by his lone signature knowing a cloiture vote would not be met. The Senate just rammed every one of those bills all rolled into one right down his throat with 66 Senators voting for the passage. Must have been some leadership there..
