"Family Values"
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 09:29 AM by SHRED
Times married:

Clinton- once
Obama- once
Edwards- once

---

Giuliani- 3 times
Gingrich- 3 times
McCain- 2 times

------------------------------------

In the context of the Republican Party framing itself as the party of "family, God, and Country", and as claiming to be the morally superior "family values" party, this is far game.

---

ON EDIT- 3 times for Newt!

3. Gore once, Bush once, Kerry twice
I don't see much point in this, unless you can find a larger sample group, like all of congress or something.

4. The point isn't that all Republicans are multiple marriers
The point is that the people they are going to put up in the fall are multiple marriers. It's not about saying that Republicans are hypocrites about family values (many aren't many in the leadership are), it's about saying that Guiliani claims to represent family values but really doesn't.

Also of course this isn't an argument aimed at Liberals or even Moderates; cause, really, who cares? It's more about reminding the base why they don't entirely trust or support Guiliani.

water carriers they employ...

Look at Rush Limbaugh: married x3; divorced x3. As Jeff Christie, arrested in Philly for procuring a male minor for sex. Yet he is one of the main carriers of the RW messages about "Family Values".

Congresscritters molesting pages...some "Family Values"; I can just hear the conversation at home as trusting parents send their kids off to Congress, "Listen and do whatever _______ wants you to do." I would be aghast and damn near to the point of insanity if I found out someone molested MY kid, whether in real life or in DC as a page...makes no difference to me, a child molester/abuser is a child molester/abuser, but it gets even worse when a candidate uses "family Values" in a campaign and then turns right around and does what he condemns others for...:grr:

Whole point is to show that people really need to look at behavior rather than what these people say...acts most certainly DO trump rhetoric.

give me a break. The guy was a total philanderer (good president) but don't lay on the crap about them having a great marriage. I have a bridge to sell you... Wanna buy it? Let's call a spade a spade here.

And who the fuck are you to speak to me that way? Nice to hide behind anonymity is it?
