1. It's more amazing that geese tend to migrate in spring or fall.
What made them fly in January?

And, not only that, but they're monogamous too. I wonder how the surviving goose spouses will manage,

Go with the geese not flying in Jan angle, and all the crazy people who think it's a sign of God. This is lame.

9. So you explain to me what this thread is about.

Apparently everyone who walked out is what, thinking they walked on water? The poster is making fun of people for surviving? They must have been "religious." Sorry, don't get it.

PS. It really isn't a good thing for Canadian geese to be traveling in Jan. Doesn't say much for our environment.

you would never need glasses.

14. I don't think the OP was making fun of or criticizing religion-
the question which comes to mind when you view the picture is "what are they standing on- why don't they sink?!"

I don't see what you're projecting in this particular post. You're trying to make it say something it really doesn't.

Honestly I hate it when people promote propaganda and can't see that other people see it. It implies that geese are stupid. Anyone who has read kpete understands his political POV.

30. This is a pic of a rescue...
There is nothing religulous about it, imho.

KPETE, did you mean to mock people of faith in this OP?

As a person of faith I took no offense. I am glad this OP was posted and I was able to see the pic...

31. I think they are saying how interesting it is to see something
formerly only holy people could do. I find it amusing. Nothing more than that was implied I believe. awesome picture of people on the water and not in it. Thanks, OP.

16. Geese tend to move around when there's a cold snap
Back before global warming, they were more likely to go south for the winter -- or at least as far as southern New Jersey.

These days, they tend to hang around -- but when there's a cold snap and whatever ponds they're been hanging out at freeze over, they move around looking for open water.

I'd guess that's what the plane ran into.

17. i would say so too. But guess the F.B.I. had to make it clear and that's fine.
I'm glad of it, based on DU emotions, everybody is frightening.

Still doesn't change the fact that geese are changing their routes based on weather.

27. In My Neck of the Woods
(near Philadelphia) the geese were all over the place yesterday. It was like an invasion. They are spending quite a bit of time in places you don't usually see them because the ponds are starting to freeze.

22. Standing on a sinking plane would be scary to me. Even if ferries were along side.
even if it were only 40-50 ft deep there. Even if it were only 15 ft deep. I don't like planes sinking in water, standing on parts that are still above water. I don't like quicksand or soft boggy muck at the edges of the ocean either.

23. Being inside the fuselage of the sinking plane would scare me more.
It looks like they got out onto the wing and were standing there waiting for rescue, which is about to come. I agree with you that I'd be in a hurry to board a ferry but I'd be waiting on the wing, not inside the plane.

of ice cold water underneath 25 degree air moving at about 15 miles per hour is pretty damn deep.

7. That plane sure is sinking slowly. Wonder what's going to happen to it.
Will the plane become trash at the bottom of the sea or will it be retrieved? I'm guess there is a lot of luggage in the plane.
