Watching Bush, I Keep Reflecting on the Year 2000 and How Great Things Were
Huge budget surpluses. A growing economy. New technologies that were rapidly changing how we lived. Peace and prosperity.

I knew Bush would be a fuck up, but I totally underestimated how fucking bad he would be. Completely underestimated him. At the time, I recall having knock down drag out arguments with people who kept saying that I was being paranoid. I worked with a Republican who was certain that Bush's tax cuts were going to be great for the economy.

Ironically, I ran into him five years later, in 2005. He had gotten his dream job. He was an attorney for Bear Stearns.

but I never imagined how bad things would get.

It has been a long, shitty 8 years.

3. maybe you were dreaming about how great 2000 was. i mean,
bush said he inherited a recession. and of course, HE didn't make it easier for more people to borrow money. no, he bears NO RESPONSIBILITY for any of the bad stuff that has happened over the past eight years. NONE!! i mean, he was on vacation most of the time anyway. so i had to have been someone else.
