Did anything good happen for you during the Bush Administration?
I'll start. This is superficial, let's have fun!

I became a runner. (Woot!) I got 5 out of my 6 cats. My youngest nephew and my only niece were born.
I got a kayak. And a Mini Cooper. Which I will still have into the Obama administration, so there

Of course I got married during the Clinton administration, so that one wins...

10. You too!
Aside from the kayak, and the car, and the cats, and the new kidlets I got laid off twice, and I'm still looking for a job.

But other than that, I really enjoy the running...

Graduated college, got my drivers license, bought a car, house... became an Aunt, witnessed Obama run the most inspirational campaign of my lifetime... I think those are the major incidents. I still don't have the fitness routine in place, but I'm sure to under Obama.

19. I left San Diego where I had been for 64 years and went to the
Southern Oregon Coast and bought the first home we have ever owned, complete with spring water, year round creek, huge garden, green house, big trees and a five min. walk to an uncrowded surfing beach, one mile south of a town of 1200 people, and most of them voted for Obama.

On Edit...I moved to a Fundie State that just turned Blue...My life has been miserable (without DU and Liberal sites on Internet since 200 Selection) and I wouldn't have survived.

My life was way better before that POS with his Poppy's Money and Connections stole the 2000 Election and while I might have "grown in some ways" I would rather not have had to do what I had to do to survive with those POS's IN POWER!

Bringing a child into the world on his watch wasn't precisely reassuring.

29. Yes. I earned an MA.
despite Bush's later cuts on Pell Grants for unlucky people who graduated just after me (I actually benefitted pretty well initially, before the cuts). I made some probably life-long, similarly-thinking friends. And I became a Democrat, from being nothing and uninterested politcally, as a direct result of Little Lord Pissypants and his sorry excuse for an administration.

So I guess I do have something for which I can thank this loser. He's screwed up everything else in my life since, but he was responsible for my becoming politically aware and concerned, and (most importantly) later becoming a Democrat and a liberal.

Thanks, Georgie!

The * years have been absolute hell for me

Got VA disability on first try.

Any Signal Corp ASA or other communication veterans, if you have any hearing difficulty from your service, go to the VA. I have hearing loss and Tinnitus. I wasn't looking for monetary reward, just wanted to save money if I needed hearing aids. They are giving me $123 a month.

And a condo. I went back to a job I love, and met some lovely people on DU I'm now quite close to IRL. I'm sure there are more things, because it seems like he's been president for freakin' EVER, but that's a good place to leave it.

35. Yes. I changed career paths and have gone from ....
... facing career stagnation to starting over at something new and flourishing. But that has nothing to do with Bush. But I have witnessed so much suffering in the eyes of others that if I could have traded my growth to help someone else, I would.

36. Yes, actually...
I married a woman I loved deeply, got my degree, got a job, got a better job, got divorced from the same woman who I now realize was very crazy, and got to see my brother marry a woman who is wonderful and not-crazy....

Plenty of bad things happened too, but I'd rather not dwell on those... :D
