........any precautionary Pilot NOTAMS for birds or waterfowl around New York LGA airport....Why am I not suprised...

1. I think that's a standard NOTAM for NY. I lived near JFK airport

in 1990 and remember that airport closing the runways to get rid of the birds, but can't recall how they tried to do that.

Anyway, birds are a problem around there.

They specifically said 'geese', geese in both engines, not birds, not anyting else. Will the answer be on the tapes or has it been clarified.

6. that's because nobody knows the cause...

the plane is now tied up at a pier, still mostly underwater. they will have to get that plane on dry land and look it over... talk to all involved... you know, investigative stuff. and investigative stuff takes some time to do and get right.

the tv folks, those pretty people with those great smiles, jumped on the "geese" theory based on some pretty sketchy evidence (a single "alleged" message from the pilot.) that might turn out to be true, but right now its just a guess.

it will take weeks or months for the real answer. because that's how these things do...

4. my flight home from la guardia was delayed cause

a bird got sucked in on landing. midwest express spent hours checking, but i think we got a different plane. best care in the air! and a warm chocolate chip cookie. obama's campaign plane!
