Borowitz's humor is shallow attack

In his Borowitz Report (Dispatch Flip Side, Jan. 5), Andy Borowitz attempted to praise President-elect Barack Obama by describing his spoken sentences as "complete." Andy the humorist once again replaced wit with mean-spiritedness and bashed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in an attempt to make his point.

Tiresome nastiness is not the biggest flaw in his report. Borowitz failed to acknowledge that while Obama's sentences are usually grammatically correct, those same sentences are often hollow.

Borowitz should have noted that President George W. Bush has an unusual political style of saying it like it is. Bush clearly said he would do his best to protect our country and all its citizens, and he has been a man of his word. That is straight talk.

Palin also has the gift of gab that might not score high on an English exam, but she doesn't spin, mislead or adjust her message to please a specific audience. Palin is an easily understood natural speaker, and the liberals are intimidated by her ability to communicate. Is Borowitz a bit jealous of her skill? You betcha!

Obviously, Li'l Debby's letter is pure dittohead flummery. She must have typed it while listening to Rush on two radios at once! Borowitz jealous? Yeah, you betcha, Debby.
