You hear that loud sucking sound coming from Washington D.C.?
This is how it is done. This is how we for get. This is how they get away with it time and time again. That is the sound of 1000s of Bush appointees, loyalist and Republican operatives slinking away almost completely unnoticed from the cushy confines of their Federal offices. They are out of a job.

But don't worry about them, they will find new homes in places like the American Enterprise Institute; Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue; the Committee for Peace and Security in the Gulf; and various other think tanks, D.C. law firms and K street affiliates. They didn't like being federal bureaucrats anyway, the money is no good and you see? They don't REALLY work for you and me.

You will see them again though, in 4 or 8 years when the see-saw dips the other way. You'll say things like, "Where do I know that guy from?" and "I've seen him before, promoting his book somewhere." Then you will realize, "Oh, that's the guy who wrote Bush's torture policy." and "Oh, that's the guy who enabled the warrantless wiretapping program." Time and distance will have made those things seem quaint and unimportant. Hell, Some might even call you a conspiracy theorist for bringing them up. The country will have completely forgotten about these illegal acts. The criminals will have been pardoned for their crimes, if not an outright pardon, then at least one implied by the silence of the people.

The criminal political hacks and policy wonks who slink in and out of D.C. during a "smooth transition of power" are people like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John Bolton, David Addington, John Yoo, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and countless others. There are so many it's hard keeping track of them. Which is what they want. They don't want you keeping track of them. So that sucking sound? You can counting on hearing it again. Only in reverse, when these guys slink back into Washington D.C. to fight another day.

3. McCarthyism became recycled to "win in 'Nam" Goldwaterism
then Nixonism, then Iran-Contra and the shadow government, and now Dearest Leader
if our own "long-awaited one" doesn't root out this rot, he's signing the death warrant for 2024's democracy and endorsing the continued rightward shift of US culture

4. These guys have been around for decades
They're like cockroaches -- you can spray, you can put down poison, but the minute the light goes out, they're back.

Some of these guys have been around since the '70s. They're not going anywhere.

on a State level, so the next Sociopath-in-Chief won't be giving them a pardon allowing them resume business like nothing happened.

Bush/Cheney is an example of the revolving door and people's short halcyon riddled memories

9. Obviously then, we need to work very hard to make sure nobody forgets the names this time around.
It's going to be eighty years before we can afford this kind of betrayal again.

In the 1980s, Richard Perle was convicted on a misdemeanor charge of
lying to Congress. It's rarely--if ever-mentioned.

Richard Perle----One of Bush's foreign policy advisors, he is the chairman of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board. A very likely Israeli government agent, Perle was expelled from Senator Henry Jackson's office in the 1970's after the National Security Agency (NSA) caught him passing Highly-Classified (National Security) documents to the Israeli Embassy. He later worked for the Israeli weapons firm, Soltam. Perle is one of the leading pro-Israeli fanatics leading this Iraq war mongering within the administration and now in the media.
