"Rising unemployment affecting health insurance industry because there are fewer people to insure."
Just heard this on CNN's money report.

What's wrong with that statement?

I guess people just disappear when they become unemployed.

3. That is why the insurance industry supports mandatory health insurance
Edited on Fri Jan-16-09 02:22 PM by liberal N proud
You would be forced to purchase health insurance just like you are car insurance. If it is mandatory, the industry is protected even if no one is working.

On Edit:

But they never fail to be really removing someone off the system quickly. Our daughter is in college but the school would not confirm she was a student on the day the insurance company checked because it was between quarters. We played hell getting her back on the insurance policy.

5. Wouldn't you just love to have a business in which the government FORCES people to buy your product?
Meh.

4. Just another reason to go with a national program that's
government run.

The next step will be to gouge the still-employed on their co-pays and premiums.

11. We all will
And it also means that hospitals are reducing services and also laying off staff, at least in Chicago.

12. May the Parasites ROT in Hell!
NO to the government forcing everyone to buy insurance policies from these thieves!
They had their chance to prove that their private health care plans worked, and they failed the American People miserably.

YES to a broadened Medicare program for all, without any private health care insurance sucking it dry.
