I think Shrub will not pardon himself or anyone else responsible for war crimes.
His ego won't let him admit that he committed any.

7. It's getting a bit late for him to issue pardons.
Wouldn't he have started by now had he so intended?

3. I tend to agree, but for another reason
Imagine about 3 months from now....

Congress is holding hearings on various crimes. Addington, Yoo, Gonzalez, Schlozman, Meiers, Rove et al. are forced to give testimony under oath. They all stand on the Fifth Amendment and don't utter a useful word. They couldn't do that if they'd been pardoned because they couldn't incriminate themselves.

We know how well they can hunker down and not answer questions. Remember Scooter Libby? We never did get to the bottom of that story. If they're pardoned, they never see prison time, but we also never get the truth. We need to rub people's noses in what's been going on in the "land of the free and the home of the brave" if we're to prevent this or worse happening in the future.
