Hidden beer alleged to have led to boyfriend's beating

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Deputies arrested a Rand woman accused of beating her boyfriend because he hid her beer.

Kanawha County Deputy J.M. Vernon was dispatched to a Church Drive home Tuesday to investigate a disturbance.

William Randall told the deputy that he had hidden beer belonging to his live-in girlfriend, identified as Angela Amodio, 41, to try to keep her sober, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

Randall said Amodio was outraged and started punching him and demanding he give her back the beer, the complaint said. Randall refused, and Amodio swung a small screwdriver at him and cut Randall's finger, according to the complaint. Amodio continued to punch Randall in the face as he tried to get away from her to call for help, the complaint said.
