Apple CEO considering liver transplant.
Just in...I am not sure what does it have to do with his history of pancreatic carcinoma...doubt that he would get a transplant for metastatic disease...main reasons for transplant Hepatitis C, hepatitis B, autoimmune hepatic disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, carcinoid syndrome? Our prayers are with him and his family

1. Maybe he's just so rich he wants a gold plated liver?

3. Theoretically, a patient with metastatic pancreatic cancer
would not qualify for a liver transplant.

5. You are correct.
I guess we will see if corporatocracy has infiltrated the medical industry.
Because honestly, if he gets a liver, it will ONLY be because he was able to buy it.
If this is the case, my organ donation status will change in a heartbeat to be a non-donor.
I do wish him well...but I would hate to see a liver go to waste (and it will) and someone who might have been a better recipient rejected because of it.

7. I'm sure he'll be whisked to the top of the list ...
which I hope not.

And NO, not to see him suffer/die, but because there are other people waiting as well and like an iPhone, he's gotta get in line and hope they don't sell out when he's next.

4. If he had cancer
There's a chance his liver was damaged by the treatment. Pancreatic cancer has a very low survival rate, so I guess he might have thought it would be worth taking extremely toxic meds if that was the only chance of beating it.

9. I find this story hard to believe........
Given his pancreatic history, I suspect Apple has put this story out to deflect from the reality - that he is, most likely, dying of pancreatic cancer.

Sad, but it's a vicious cancer.
