The terrorists are "emboldened" by the troop increase

<snip>

In an online video message on Tuesday, al-Qaeda’s second-in-command accused the US of being behind the deployment of Ethiopian troops in Somalia and vowed that Islamist forces would “break the back” of the Ethiopians.

“In his ramblings, Bush said he would send 20,000 soldiers to Iraq. I ask him: why send only 20,000 soldiers? Why don’t you send 50,000 or 100,000?” Zawahiri said in the 15-minute recording.

“Don’t you know that the dogs of Iraq are impatient to devour the carcasses of your soldiers?” he taunted.

“You must send your entire army to be annihilated at the hands of the mujahideen so that the world will be rid of your wickedness.”

1. By Golly
Now that story should be a little starch in the spine of bush backing chickenhawks. The Army and Marine Corps better keep their recruiting offices open this weekend. True flag waving patriotic republicans will be flocking to join the services and volunteer for service in the middle east right after basic training.

2. Ahem, it's only emboldening the terrorists if a Democrat wants 20,000 more troops in Iraq
:sarcasm:

3. Saw this over at The Smirking Chimp today:
http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/5072

"By contrast, analysts give more weight to intercepted al-Qaeda communiqués describing the leaders' private views. Those messages reveal that – even as al-Qaeda baits the United States about leaving Iraq – the group actually worries that a sudden U.S. withdrawal could collapse its position.

Intelligence analysts estimate that al-Qaeda's forces account for only five percent or less of the armed opposition fighting U.S. and allied forces – and many of those young jihadists are not considered committed fighters.

As Zawahiri said in one captured letter, a rapid American military withdrawal could cause al-Qaeda’s new foreign jihadists, who have gone to Iraq to battle the Americans, to simply give up the fight and go home."

The White House, giving the terrorists what they need, while claiming victim-hood because the Dems are trying to oppose their insane policy. Just another day in Bushville.

4. Ummm.... I suggest We The People should send them all the Rs
who still support this worst maladministration in the history of the US, including, of course, all its past and current members there, and bring the boys 'n girls home as soon as yesterday.

6. just find it ironic that BushCo loves to tell us how war critics "embolden"
the enemy. Here we have AQ #2 saying bring it on... Whether this video was done in Pakistan or Virginia that's a different story :-)
